三折頁印刷在我們生活中十分常見，比如說，一些商場導購資料、餐館及酒樓的宣傳彩頁等，都常常採用三折頁的形式。一般來說，三折頁比傳統的彩頁印刷多了一道折頁的工序。生活中很多人可能會認為折頁的工序是非常簡單的，因此，常常認為三折頁印刷就是將彩頁印刷品進行折疊。這種簡單的想法很顯然是錯誤的。

　　首先，進行折頁是一項需要考慮很多因素的環節。折頁時對紙張的厚度、折頁的角度及位置等都是有要求的。紙張太厚，折頁後是會有破損的，會出現掉墨等現象。紙張太薄又會破損乃至斷裂。當然，三折頁印刷時可以採用覆膜等工藝來防止或者延緩破損的發生。


　　其次，就是在三折頁印刷的設計環節，這個環節必須確定三折頁印刷的版式，而不應該以宣傳彩頁的形式進行印刷。否則，在印刷三折頁時，折疊後，往往會遮蓋住圖片和文字，這樣達不到三折頁印刷的效果。


　　除此之外，三折頁印刷還應該保證折疊的效果。一般來說，三折頁印刷的折疊有人工折疊和機器折疊等兩種不同的折疊方式。但是，人工折疊效率低，成本高，往往並不是最佳的選擇。而機器折疊效率是較高的，而且折疊的效果是較為顯著的。因此，進行三折頁印刷時，採用機器折疊時較為普遍的，省時省力。
