耐光性是指UV柔印油墨在陽光的作用下，其顏色不發生退色的性能。要掌握各種UV柔印油墨的耐光性，首先要瞭解每種UV柔印油墨的耐光性等級，這個是根據BWS國際標準來劃分的。BWS包括8個等級，從最低的1級到最高的8級。所有的UV柔印油墨必須在特定的實驗室進行耐光性測試。以確保印品能持久保持鮮亮的色彩。

　　UV柔印油墨的耐光性分析實際應用中，以下情況會加快UV柔印油墨印品的退色速度。


　　（1）氣候、季節的影響。如從全球範圍看，南半球的氣候和夏季會加快UV柔印油墨印品的退色速度。


　　（2）一般情況下，退色時間和等級是在油墨飽和度較高的情況下測出的，如果印刷顏色較淺，印品退色速度會加快。


　　（3）環境相對濕度，光線的照射角度和照射時間也會影響油墨的耐光性。


　　（4）如果用一種BWS等級低的UV柔印油墨和一種BWS等級較高的UV柔印油墨調高顏色。如PMS436色，就很容易退色。因為PMS436色由暖紅墨和綠色墨組成，暖紅墨的BWS等級只有2~3級，綠色墨的BWS等級為8級，固退色後，PMS436的顏色會偏向綠色。


　　（5）一般情況下，如果客戶沒有特殊要求，各色墨的BWS等級為4~6級。在Pantone色中暖紅墨的BWS等級最低。這也是導致許多顏色油墨容易退色的原因。
