①觀察反射樣品。
觀察反射樣品時,光源應垂直位於觀察面的上方,觀察者位於觀察面的側面,以45°角的方向觀察,如圖3-16所示。這種方法可以避免燈光的鏡面反射光進入觀察者的眼睛,引起耀眼的不良效果。當印刷品錶面光澤度較高,鏡面反射強產生耀眼的光斑時,可以適當調整觀察的角度,避開耀眼的光。有時也可採用光源45°角照明,觀察者以垂直觀察面方向觀察的方法

 

②觀察透射樣品。
觀察透射直樣品錶面觀察。觀察時樣品應盡量置於照明面的中部,使其至少在三個邊以外有50mm寬的被照明邊。當透射樣品面積很小時,樣品四周要用灰色的擋光材料遮蓋,使其四周的亮邊面積總和不要超過樣品面積的四倍,如果周圍過多的亮邊會對觀察者的眼睛產生很大的影響,造成觀察誤差。
