書籍裝訂形式/捲軸裝。​縑帛,是絲織品的統稱,與今天的書畫用絹大致相同。縑帛的使用,跨越了從公元前6世紀至公元5世紀的漫長歲月。

書籍裝訂形式/捲軸裝。縑帛,是絲織品的統稱,與今天的書畫用絹大致相同。縑帛的使用,跨越了從公元前6世紀至公元5世紀的漫長歲月。

在先秦文獻中多次提到了用縑帛作為書寫材料,《墨子》中提到“書於竹帛”,《字詁》中說“古之素帛,以書長短隨事裁絹”。

可見縑帛質輕,易折疊,書寫方便,尺寸長短可根據文字的多少裁成一段,捲成一束,稱為“一捲”。縑帛的另一種折疊存放形式,見於1934年長沙楚墓中出土的“楚帛書”(如圖1-1-9),是被折為八疊存放於漆盒內的縑帛常作為書寫材料,與簡牘同期使用,自簡牘和縑帛作為書寫材料起,這種形式被書史學家認為是真正意義上的書籍。


縑帛的種類也很繁多,寫在這些絲織品上的書,也就分別叫帛書、縑書、素書、繒書等。縑帛有許多簡牘無法替代的優點,如:書寫面積大、易於攜帶、墨跡清晰等等,但因其價格的昂貴,往往只用於珍貴經典、神聖文書的書寫和圖畫的繪制。

書寫完成後,便用一根細木棒做軸,從左向右捲起來,這便成為一捲由此形成了捲軸裝的形式。
