書籍畫冊設計使用的字體：印刷體。​常用印刷體有宋體、黑體、仿宋體、楷體、等線體(幼圓)等宋體起源於宋代,當時盛行刻拓、法帖及套印,為使雕刻方便規範,適應於雕版印刷,將楷書變成橫筆細、豎筆粗,樸實、清晰、工整的正方形字體。

書籍畫冊設計使用的字體：印刷體。常用印刷體有宋體、黑體、仿宋體、楷體、等線體(幼圓)等宋體起源於宋代,當時盛行刻拓、法帖及套印,為使雕刻方便規範,適應於雕版印刷,將楷書變成橫筆細、豎筆粗,樸實、清晰、工整的正方形字體。

不過其真正盛行還是在明朝,因而也稱為明朝體宋體的特點是橫輕豎重,字形端正,剛勁有力,常用於書籍、報刊正文這一字體至今仍被廣泛運用


黑體的特點是筆畫粗壯有力,橫豎均勻,突出醒目,具有現代感感覺上顯得比同號的其他字體大一些,常用於內文標題和封面,醒目而有沖擊力。但不宜多用,如用多了版面會顯得笨重,使讀者感到壓抑容易產生疲勞感


仿宋體由宋體演變而成,有仿宋、長仿等。仿宋為正方形,長仿呈長方形,其特點是橫豎筆畫均勻,起筆和落筆成傾斜形,清秀雅緻常用於散文、詩歌、圖表等;長仿多用於小標題


楷體是中國傳統的書法字體,歷史悠久,具有很強的文化特徵。其特點是婉轉圓滑,柔中帶剛,古樸秀美常用於兒童讀物、小學課本,適宜作輕松的標題或古詩詞等


等線體是黑體的改良字體,其特點是筆畫粗細相同,纖秀柔和,活潑瀟灑,常用於小說、序言、解說詞等
