我國是印刷術的故鄉,自從雕版印刷術和活字印刷術發明後,隨著與各國之間的交流,這些印刷技術大量向外傳播。

我國是印刷術的故鄉,自從雕版印刷術和活字印刷術發明後,隨著與各國之間的交流,這些印刷技術大量向外傳播。

首先傳往與我國相毗鄰的高麗、日本和東南亞各國。11世紀初朝鮮的《高麗大藏經〉就是採用中國雕版印刷方法刊印的,也是朝鮮最早的印刷品。

日本最早的印刷品是770年印刷的《無垢凈完經根本陀羅尼》,後來我國的印刷術又經絲綢之路傳至歐亞交匯點伊朗,進而傳入歐洲,並對歐洲的印刷術產生了重要的影響世界近現代印刷術在中國的傳播國雖然是印刷術的故鄉,但是現代印刷術都是從西方傳入的,
16世紀以後,隨著外國侵略勢力的入侵,近現代印刷術也隨之傳入中國,並對中國的印刷業產生了巨大影響,最早傳入的是凸版印刷技術,隨後是平版印刷技術,
凹版印刷技術傳入較晚1807年,鉛活字印刷技術開始傳入中國,當時英國人馬禮遜來中國傳教,需要刊印中文《聖),於是在1819年第一次印刷出一部中文的(新約聖經》,
這是最早用鉛活字印刷的中文書1838年,麥都思在廣州編輯的《各國消息》是中國最早出現的平版印刷品,1908年,民國財政部印刷局聘請美國凹版技師刻印有價證券,為中國培養了此從事雕刻的人員。不同印刷技術的傳入,推動了中國印刷業的發展
