美國,由於綠色是美鈔背面的顏色,所以綠色代表著金錢和財富;而英國的傳統文化中,綠色是青春與希望的象徵。

在地處沙漠的阿拉伯國家,綠色是沙中綠洲的代名詞,是看望的象徵,因此,他們的國旗大多是以綠色為底色。綠色還是愛爾蘭的代表顏色,綠色代表信仰天主教的愛爾蘭人,因此,愛爾蘭也被叫作“綠寶石之島”。
