我們所見的福田繁雄等大師的每一件作品,都有幾十個構思的草圖,並經過反復的推敲和修改,才能呈現出令人滿意的效果。在圖形設計過程中往往需要一遍一遍地反復多次修改,包括細致的調研,這是完善設計創意的基本過程。根據調研得來的信息,對構思草圖進行重新否定、重新構思,在反復否定中,不斷修改和完善設計。這種“否定之否定原則”的目的是為了完設計,而這種否定,首先要從設計者內在的自我需求出發,每一次否定的結果就是新的創新的開始

技術和經濟、社會的需求等外部環境的不斷變化,也迫使設計不斷地更新,設計者應及時掌握和預測這種變化,不斷改進設計。因此,無論從外部環境還是設計者自身的需要,變化和水不滿足是圖形設計的靈魂
