​膠印主要用於印刷畫報、宣傳畫、商標掛歷、地圖等,目前中國書籍印刷、期刊雜志印刷、報紙印刷基本上都使用了膠印方式印刷。此外,眾多的包裝裝潢產品的加工製作,也離不開膠印。

膠印目前在印刷行業中的地位

自從20世紀初葉發明瞭膠印機以後,膠印一直處於不斷的發展和完善之中。

特別是70年代以來,膠印隨著照排技術和電子分色等技術的發展而發展較快,並在印刷行業中越來越占有絕對的優勢。

就以世界上1979年的膠印印書為例,其印書量占總量的比例在美國為80%,在德國為71%,在日本為70%,在法國為80%以上。

中國的膠印近幾年來發展也很快。特別是在1979年以後,各地都在大力推廣膠印印書,不論是新建廠還是原有的廠,都把膠印印刷書刊放在重要位置。
