字距是指文字行中字與字之間的空白距離。一般書籍的字距為所用正文字的15寬度。

字距是指文字行中字與字之間的空白距離。一般書籍的字距為所用正文字的15寬度。

行距是指兩行文字之間的空白距離,通常占半個字的空位,也就是行距為正文字號的12或35,一般情況下,行距要大於字距。行距的寬窄不僅關繫到版面的美觀更重要的是影響閱讀的流暢。行距過窄,行與行之間容易混淆,行距過寬,則不但會影響讀者閱讀的

整體連貫性,還會增加紙張的消耗。適當的行距能使閱讀方便,版面清晰美觀。


在行寬的設定上,要符合人的視覺舒適程度太寬,人的頭部需要轉動才能讀完一行字,時間久了容易錯行:太窄,移動視線換行的頻率快,造成眼睛的疲勞。一般情況下,正常人在閱讀時眼睛的最佳寬度是10釐米左右,即27個5號漢字或約20個4號漢字。32開本的版心一般為寬10釐米、高16釐米,通常通欄文字排列。16開本的版心為寬15釐米、高21釐米左右,一般分兩欄進行排列。
