單張金屬板印刷機有圓壓平型平版膠印機和圓壓圓型平版膠印機兩種形式，前者一採用手工續料，印刷速度較低，承印物尺寸較小，印刷批量不大，且前很少採用。圓壓圓型平般膠印機是目前金屬板印刷機的主流，大多以雙色機為主。

金屬印刷採用版，其製版藝基本上與膠印製版相同。如採用乾膠印方式，可採用感光性樹脂凸版進行印刷。在使用液體樹脂凸版進行乾膠印時，


不能用連曬機，可採用透合圖案數的大張魚片，通過專用的拼版曝光機進行曝光製片。

圓壓圓型平般膠印機是目前金屬板印刷機的主流，大多以雙色機為主。


金屬板平版膠印機的標準印刷機組。GQ印刷機組由印版滾簡P、橡皮液筒、壓印滾筒1及輸墨裝置和潤濕裝置組成。三滾筒的排列方式大多接近垂直配置。


由於金屬板在進入印刷滾時不能像紙張那樣可以捲繞在壓印滾簡上，所以在進料時，除了設置規矩外，還應在金屬板拖梢側設置上下位置的穩壓裝置，


以防止金屬板拖梢側向上翹曲離開輸料板。印刷部的輸墨裝置和潤濕裝置採用平版膠印機的標準設置，印刷速度可為3000-6000張時。


橡皮滾筒B應來用硬型橡皮布和硬式襯墊，否則，在印刷實地會產生再現不良等故障。金屬板印刷機印刷部件也要有足夠的剛度和精度，並要嚴格控制滾筒包襯尺寸。
