長期以來，玻璃製品的蝕刻裝飾，都是先在玻璃錶面塗上一層熱塗蠟層及其他增固材料，作為抗蝕層，再在塗層上用針，小刀等刻出圖案紋樣，露出玻璃錶面，然後在此部位上用氫氟酸進行腐蝕，這種方法費時、費力。而絲印蝕刻工藝的出現使玻璃製品的蝕刻裝飾變得簡單快捷。

1.玻璃製品蝕刻絲印


長期以來，玻璃製品的蝕刻裝飾，都是先在玻璃錶面塗上一層熱塗蠟層及其他增固材料，作為抗蝕層，再在塗層上用針、


小刀等刻出圖案紋樣，露出玻璃錶面，然後在此部位上用氫氟酸進行腐蝕，這種方法費時、費力。而絲印蝕刻工藝的出現使玻璃製品的蝕刻裝飾變得簡單快捷。


玻璃的蝕刻絲印有熱印和冷印兩種方法：


（1）熱塑性蝕刻絲印


將石蠟、瀝青、硬脂酸等所配製的黏合劑，加入少量的抗蝕粉調製成抗蝕印料，通過熱印絲網版，按設計圖樣把印料刮印至玻璃錶面，


形成抗蝕膜。抗蝕膜上露出玻璃的部分，即是需要蝕刻的圖案。蝕刻採用氫氟酸進行，蝕刻後要用開水沖洗掉印在玻璃上的抗蝕層。


（2）冷印絲印蝕刻


該方法抗蝕印料可使用特製的瀝青漆加抗蝕粉，也可購買抗蝕油墨。印刷完成後，待抗蝕膜完全乾燥，便可進行氫氟酸腐蝕了。


熱印適於二方連續、四方連續圖案紋樣的蝕刻，而冷印適合單獨紋樣的蝕刻。
