離不開金屬印刷時所使用油墨和塗料的特殊作用。金屬印刷用塗料的作用有以下兩點：


一，增加金屬與油墨墨層之間的附著力。實驗證明、若在金屬板上先印一層打底塗料，既增大油墨黏著力，


又增強了同油墨之間的親和性，使墨膜的耐磨性能和牢固度均有明顯提高，為印刷後的加工成型打下了良好的基礎。


二，塗料的使用既保護了金屬印刷品上的油墨膜層，使其在成型加工中不變色、不掉漆。金屬錶面對油墨無吸收性，


金屬印刷油墨的於燥主要依靠油墨自身的氧化結膜或油墨溶同時也增加了圖案的光澤劑的揮發。


金屬印刷油墨也要適合金屬印刷機的性能特點，如壓力、印刷速度等操作條件。
