​往往在印刷油墨之前先塗一層無色透明的底漆，使金屬印刷油墨牢固地附著在其錶面。收縮應力方向塗膜金屬的附著塗料的技術要求縮應力的作用。

金屬印劇底塗料一般有兩類：一類是橡皮滾筒塗布底漆，例如以丁醇為主要溶劑的350氨基醇酸清烘漆。另一類是機上印刷的打底塗料。

金屬印刷機上印刷的厚度在10pm左右，而滾筒塗刷的厚度則為機上打底的1-2倍。打底薄有利於提高塗膜的附著力。

金屬材料錶面的油層和氧化膜直接影響金屬印刷油墨在金屬上的附著力，塗膜的附著力和收縮應力的作用。對於深沖製品，

流平性好有適宜的熱固化性、抗水性和較好的柔韌性：附著力強，對白塗料或油墨有良好的親和性。
