金銀墨的印刷有一些特殊的技術要求，主色及大面積實地疊印過多，會使金銀墨附著困或印跡發虛。

金色或銀色盡可能設計在紅、藍、黑等深色實地上，以形成光亮金屬色與深色墨的強烈對比，襯托出金銀色的金屬光澤。

金銀墨印刷應放在最後一道色序。需在金銀色印刷的實地上疊印其他色的圖文時，為瞭解決其他色圖文在金銀實地上的附著牢度，

大面積實地印金銀墨與細小線條、文字要避免設計時拼在一起，以免影響細小線條、文字的清晰度和大面積實地金銀色的厚實和平服。


金銀墨印刷採用的印刷設備及其操作方法與彩色油墨印刷基本相同，採用凸版、平版凹版和絲網工藝均可印刷。但應該註意各種印刷工藝的特點和要求，採取相應的措施。
