掌握好珠光顏料片徑大小與閃光強度之間的關系。珠光顏料的片徑越大，其錶面受到我的多重反射、折射的機會就越多，強度也越強；反之閃光的強度就弱。

珠光顏料的閃光效果是對光的反射作用形成的，為了充分地發揮珠光顏料反光的這一特點，在選用珠光顏料時，應該掌握好三個關：

掌握好珠光顏料的片徑大小與閃光效果之間的關系。應用於包裝印刷中的珠光顏料都是呈片狀的，通常片狀直徑越大，

則片與片之間的距離就越大，閃光效果就越分散；反之片徑小，片與片之間距離則小，閃光效果也越集中。

掌握好珠光顏料片徑大小與閃光強度之間的關系。珠光顏料的片徑越大，其錶面受到我的多重反射、折射的機會就越多，強度也越強；反之閃光的強度就弱。

要掌握好珠光顏料片徑大小與凝聚性及在連結料中的懸浮沉降性之間的關系。一般情況，珠光顏料的片徑越小越容易凝聚，而其顆粒縱橫比也越小，在連結料中也容易產生沉降。

反之，片徑越大越容易分散，顆粒的縱橫比也就越大，在連結料中也越容易呈懸浮狀要想獲得顏料均勻分散在連結料中的油墨，還必須在掌握好選用珠光顏料的三個關系的基礎上，

根據連結料的密度來選擇適宜的片徑和縱橫比的珠光顏料。在油墨調配中，加入增稠劑可以防止珠光顏料的沉降，或者預先使珠光顏料潤濕後再分散在連結料中，

可以避免產生顆粒凝聚結團而沉降的弊病，以取得相似的結果。
