從思想上統一藝術課程設置理念,充分認識藝術教育自身的人文價值和內涵,在開發學生潛能,修養德行等現代化人才素質培養中的重要功能、地位和作用。我們對人才的要求包括:既有扎實的文化基礎知識,又有開拓和創新精神;既會做事又會做人,具有實踐能力,組織能力,又有與人協作和無私奉獻的精神。

藝術教育還在辦學特色和校園文化氛圍建設中具有獨特功效。應該結合當地文化和本校實際,努力創造條件,探索藝術教育課程建設規律,促進藝術教育科研、教學和課程管理研究,使之規範化、系統化、科學化,最終達到培養大學生健康的審美情趣和能力,陶冶道德修養,開闊視野,活躍思維,激發創新能力,提升綜合素質,促進身心全面和諧發展的目的。

藝術教育目標要從其在綜合大學的任務出發,要與專科藝術院校區別開來,從“純粹藝術”教育中走出來,對藝術專業的學生,也要致力於培養藝術理論研究者或具有綜合大學學科背景的藝術學者,而不一定是藝術表演家。學生的發展不僅包括知識和技能的發展,而且包括道德、人格、理想、情感以及身體的發展。
