The scope and nature of the finishing process depend on the type of printed matter. For example, printed materials such as newspapers, advertisements, promotional posters, single picture films, books, journals, accounting books, etc. must undergo a series of processing and organizing or binding into volumes before they can be sent to readers or customers. The processing and organization after printing is collectively referred to as post press processing.
The calculation of post press processing is relatively complex and cumbersome, mainly including stamping, embossing, embossing, over molding, pressing, gluing, cutting, packaging, and shipping costs, all of which are post press processing costs.
1. Unit of measurement after printing
The unit of measurement for binding wages is relatively complex, as using only one unit of measurement is not easy to encompass various binding processes. Commonly used units of measurement include printing, pasting, and folding. Based on the accuracy of reflecting labor, the most accurate unit of measurement is folding, followed by pasting, and then printing. The determination of folding hands is a complex process that is beyond the reach of ordinary pricing personnel. Although the printed sheet may feel rough, it is easy to determine and facilitates integration with publishing and quick calculation. Therefore, the "Guiding Wage" adopts the method of folding the printing sheet as the basic unit of calculation, attempting to combine the advantages of both. If a printed sheet (folio paper) contains 2 folding hands, add 100% printed sheet (folio paper) containing 3 folding hands, and add 200%. A printed sheet (folio paper) contains n folding hands, plus (n-1) × 100%。
The original price list was based on three printed sheets as the basic unit of measurement, and the "Guiding Price" was simplified to one printed sheet. 2. Minimum number of prints
The starting price for binding should be similar to the starting or overprinting fees for printing. The new price list has added a minimum number of printing sheets for various binding methods, protecting the interests of the industry. The content is as follows
(1) Folding. The difference in quantity is significant. Charge based on the number of folds, such as 0.01 yuan per fold
(2) Coating fee. Calculated by area or number of openings. (11) Press concave and convex. Also known as raised, the price is the same as die-cutting
(12) Glaze. Calculate based on the one color printer used for printing. And the calculation of UV glazing is different. UV glazing is usually localized, so its price is also related to the area
(13) The prices of alcohol and high-end gift items such as frosting and ice cream are calculated by area.
(14) Paste envelopes and paper bags. For example, for hand bags, the calculation is based on each bag (including the die-cutting fee), such as 0.40 yuan per bag, with an additional die-cutting version of 50-80 yuan; The price of adhesive envelopes and document bags, such as the second, fifth, and sixth seals, is 0.01 yuan/piece, and the seventh seal is 0.015 yuan/piece. The ninth seal is 0.025 yuan/piece; Adhesive file bags and archive bags are priced at 0.15 yuan per piece.
(15) Pasted paper box. Calculated by area (including die-cutting and box ordering). Some are priced based on size and quantity of each batch, typically ranging from 0.005 to 0.02 yuan per batch.
(16) Pick up the quotation. A ream of paper costs 10 to 35 yuan (specific pricing for folding times, header, number of points, and frequency).
(17) Call the number. A print run of 0.02~0.03 yuan per print run.
In the new price list, some actual new processing projects have been added, such as bagging, labeling, and pasting, to provide a basis for settlement.
There are still some processing fees for the above post press processes that have not been quoted, and they will be priced by the factory based on the actual situation.
Due to the low unit price of printing since its establishment in the early 1950s, this price has hindered the development of binding. The standard originally established was based on the high level of manual operation and low level of mechanization in binding. On the one hand, it reflected the importance of mechanical equipment prices in binding at that time, and on the other hand, it reflected the low skill requirements for operators in binding. However, with the gradual mechanization, linkage and electronization of the binding process, the technological content and price gradually catch up with those before printing and printing, the cost has increased significantly. However, compared with the labor productivity, it has not been greatly increased, and the skill level requirements of operators have gradually improved, the binding price is even more unbalanced.
The binding unit price has increased in the new printing price, but the cost is not the highest. The reason why binding prices have not significantly increased is objectively considering that the imbalance of printing and binding in the printing industry will not be significantly alleviated in the short term, which inevitably leads to the long-term existence of professional binding enterprises. Generally speaking, the actual operating costs of professional binding enterprises are lower than those of comprehensive printing enterprises. Therefore, there is a certain increase in the binding unit price in the guidance of the printing industry, with the aim of improving the quality of book and magazine binding, protecting the interests of publishers and professional binding enterprises, and promoting comprehensive printing enterprises to practice hard in accelerating reform and strengthening management to gradually reduce costs.
