高檔的商品包裝和防偽包裝印刷產品，一般主要是採用熱燙印技術，尤其是立體燙印技術，隨熱燙印技術發展而發展立體燙印技術的發展趨勢主要體現在以下三個方面。

（1）聯機立體燙印，立體燙印箔化學性能的提高，為燙印速度的大幅提升提供了可靠保證，因此，目前立體燙印工藝已經能夠聯機完成，而且，聯機熱燙印工藝的應用今後會越來越普遍，此外，單張紙折疊紙盒印刷正朝著捲簡紙印刷方向發展，這也為聯機立體印工藝創造了條件

（2）先燙後印，即燙印之後再在燙印箔上進行印刷。先燙後印工藝同樣得益於燙印化學性能的改善和提高，從而可以採用UV油墨在燙印箔上進行印刷，先燙後印工藝能夠提供更好的裝飾效果，並提高圖像的視覺吸引力，燙印之後再疊印不透明或者透明的彩色油墨，可以實現特殊的效果，尤其是增強其防偽效果

（3）提高燙印速度、降低成本，輪轉立體燙印滾筒的價格較高，是立體燙印工藝的成本高的因素，而立體燙印滾簡的價格逐漸呈現下降的趨勢，為立體燙印成本的降低提供了有利條件。以前，由於立體燙印速度的限制，大部分立體燙印工作都是脫機完成的，而前不論是平壓平燙金機還是圓壓平燙金機，速度都能夠達到7500-12000張%時。生產速度的不斷提高，將極大降低立體燙印的成本
