立體燙印版版材的選用。常用的燙印版材有黃銅、紅銅、鋼、鋅、鎂等金屬，目前國內主要採用的是紫銅版照相腐蝕法製版，而國外已經普遍採用黃銅版電子雕刻法製版。

①腐蝕紫銅版，腐蝕紫銅版厚度一般為2mm，將其鉚接到另一塊厚銅板或鋁板上使用，這種燙印版成本較低，工藝簡單，但立體感差，使用壽命短（一般10萬印以下），精細圖文的印質量較差，一般適用於平面燙印和一些對浮雕效果要求不高的包裝產品上

②電黃銅版，由於黃銅具有較高的硬度和理想的加工性能，因此成為立體燙印版的首選版材，國外目前普遍使用的是計算機數控雕刻黃銅版，厚度一般可達7mm，通過相關的軟件控制，對事先掃描的圖像按照客戶的要求進行精確的三維立體雕刻。這樣製作的燙印版配合預制的底模凸版，適用於立體燙印，可以保證印刷品上細小圖案的燙印精度和圖文邊緣的清晰度。雕刻黃銅版壽命長（可達100萬印以上）、生產效率高、重復性好、燙印精度高（尤其是對細小圖案的表現）、適於製作復雜的圖形、燙印效果十分精美，但其製作成本非常高，一般適用於長版活的立體燙印
