點陣式光柵與柱面鏡光柵不同，是由很多的小透鏡按行和列排列組成，如同印刷的網點一般，因此又稱為“鷹眼”光柵。組成這種光柵的透鏡形狀可以是球面鏡，也可以是圓錐或多邊形，每一個透鏡可以在各個方向對光進行折射，而不是像柱面鏡那樣只在一個方向，因此可以在多個方向實現變圖的效果

由於點陣式光柵在各個方向的折射是相同的，而立體視覺的視差僅在水平方向，因此點陣式光柵成像會對立體視覺產生乾擾，一般僅適合製作變圖效果。點陣式光柵對製作的要求更高，要將圖像按像素處理（而不是目前的分條處理），難度較大，並且光柵全部進口，價格比較昂貴，因此目前國內應用還很少
