狹纏光柵式立體（變畫）印刷用狹縫光柵實現立體印刷的原理基本與柱透鏡光柵一樣，只不過是用光柵進行遮擋，將圖像分割為左右視圖或不同的視圖，但由於光柵的遮擋作用使光能量有一部分損失（大約損失1/2），因此使用這種方法必須有較強的照明（通常是通過燈箱的背光照明），通常適合製作燈箱廣告。鑒於這種光柵的成像原理和用途，目前這類光柵的柵距都不太高通常在40線左右，而且光柵必須與畫面間隔一定的距離，通過不同方向的觀察看到不同的畫面，更適合製作變圖的效果與柱透鏡光棚相比，狹縫光柵製作的圖對觀察距離限制範圍較寬。狹縫光柵的應用目前沒有柱面鏡光柵廣泛，製作的廠家也相對少一些，其應用還有待進一步研究開發
