塗料印花是用塗料直接印花，該工藝通常叫做乾法印花，已廣泛應用於印花布的生產。

防染印花包括兩個步驟，先是在白色織物上印上能阻止或防止染料滲透進織物的化學藥劑或蠟狀樹脂，再匹染織物。


匹染織物的目的是上染底色從而襯托出白色花紋。註意其結果與拔染印花織物的一樣，然而達到這種結果的方法卻與拔染印花相反。


防染印花方法應用並不普遍，一般在底色不能拔染的情況下才會使用。大多數防染印花是通過如手工藝或手工印花（如蠟防印花）等方法實現的。


因為拔染印花和防染印花能夠產生同樣的印花效果，所以一般通過肉眼觀察常常不能鑒別。塗料印花是用塗料直接印花，該工藝通常叫做乾法印花，已廣泛應用於印花布的生產。


以區別於濕法印花（或染料塗料印花區域比未印花區域的手感稍硬。如果織物是用染料印花的，其印花部位和未印花部位就沒有明顯的硬度差異。


塗料印花是印花生產中最價廉的印花方式，因為塗料的印製相對簡單，所需的工序最少，通常不需要汽蒸和水洗。塗料有鮮艷、豐富的顏色，


可用於所有的紡織纖維。它們的耐光牢度和耐乾洗牢度良好，因此廣泛用於裝飾織物、窗簾織物以及需要乾洗的服裝面料。此外，塗料幾乎不會產生較大色差，遮蓋力也好。
