運用線條的地紋做底，結合背景圖片進行浮雕加工，使畫面產生尤如雕刻般的凹凸效果，稱之為浮雕，由於浮雕是由地紋與圖片結合生成的，取材範圍很廣，再經浮雕程序製作即可產生優美的畫面，即使是同一版紋與圖片的浮雕，根據其設定的不同，也可以變化許多不同的深淺效果。例如：某些版紋設計軟件提供了直線浮雕、曲線浮雕、圖像浮等各種浮雕工具，而且浮雕的角度、弧度、光滑度都可以調節，生成的浮雕自然、效果好。其中圖像浮雕生成的效果更為多變，還可以結合其他圖像處理軟件的成果，生成藝術水平很高的浮雕效果。幾種類型的浮雕浮雕是版紋防偽技術的核心功能，其效果有很強的立體感，變化豐富，作為包裝、證件、票據的背景圖案效果最佳。浮雕在實際生活中應用是很常見的，例如我國現行通用的火車票、飛機票、機票保險單、銀行存摺上的浮雕版紋、國家政府機關的各種證件、單據、票據等，上面均印有各種不同形式的浮雕版紋，在商標上也經常可以看到各種公司的徽標浮雕等。
