防掃描是指超高精度（光學解析度5000pi以上）掃描儀或照相製版也不能再現版紋正品的線條形態。版紋設計的作品本身就具備防掃描的功能，這是因為：掃描生成的定是有網點的圖像，而版紋是由線條組成的，版紋設計系統針是對掃描儀的局限性研製而成，典型的防掃描是圓形線條漸變網防掃描，主要通過同心圓線條的間距、粗細的變化、從而達到一種看似立體感強，實質上使掃描出的圖像達不到這種效果，從而體現其防偽性能雖然頂級掃描儀帶掃描線條的功能，可以將一個普通的線條印刷品復制出來，但對於專門設計的版紋來說，這種掃描儀仍然有一定的局限性，

①不能識別彩色線條，只能識別單黑線條。

②不能識別有粗細變化的線條，只能識別均勻寬度的線條，

③不能同時識別線條和網點。
